Lindsey Smith
One time I tallied up all of the places I’ve lived around southeast Michigan and northwest Ohio and it was well above a dozen. I attended nearby schools in South Lyon, Whitmore Lake and am a proud 2003 graduate of Pinckney High School. College took me to Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts, Washtenaw Community College and Eastern Michigan University – where I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree. I majored in Political Science and Electronic Media and managed to pull off a cumulative GPA of 3.94.
I think I grew up at WHMI; starting as a sales intern in January of 2004 and then going on air shortly after. Eventually I figured out my love of current events could double as a career in news and started edging in that direction. Outside of work I’m still a news junkie. I also love to travel abroad and I'm aiming to incorporate that into my career in the future. Some cool things I have enjoyed doing include skydiving, snorkeling in Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, scuba diving, wakeboarding, snowboarding, parasailing and of course, floating in the WHMI hot air balloon.
