FRENCHTOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - The National Weather Service says a tornado with peak winds of 95-100 mph traveled 4.3 miles in Monroe County's Frenchtown Township. It says the EF-1 storm that developed about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday had a maximum width of 400 yards, ripped roofing from homes and blew out windows. No injuries were reported. DTE Energy's website showed about 1,500 outages Wednesday morning in or near Gibraltar and another 1,500 outages in the Riverview area. The weather service says about 1.2 inches of rain fell at Detroit Metro Airport in Romulus in only an hour during Tuesday's storms. The Michigan Department of Transportation reported standing water on the John C. Lodge Freeway, on Detroit's west side.
