A woman well known throughout the Milford and Highland Township communities has passed away.

Barb Maher passed away unexpectedly at the age of 73. Visitation will take place at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home in Milford on Wednesday from 2 to 9pm. Services will follow at 10am Thursday at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Highland Township. Burial will follow at Milford Memorial Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are encouraged to the Community Sharing pantry, as Maher was said to have been instrumental in its growth and success. Maher helped found the non-profit.

Community Sharing officials announced in a social media post that her death was unexpected, subsequently leaving everyone shocked and overwhelmed with grief. They say the loss of Maher not only leaves a hole in the hearts of those that love her, but a huge void in the world of community giving and caring. (JM)
