Putnam Woman Reports Incident Involving Stranger Approaching Her Kids
August 28, 2017
Parents in the Putnam Township and Pinckney areas are on alert after a report of a stranger approaching children over the weekend.
The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office says they were called shortly after 7pm Saturday by a resident who lives at Cedar Lake Road and M-36 about a suspicious vehicle near her house. The woman, Jade Fowler, said a van had stopped at the intersection while her 4 and 7-year-old sons played outside. She noticed a male occupant watching her boys, eventually exiting the van and approaching her kids. She then proceeded to approach the van, when the male suspect noticed her and stopped. He then reportedly turned back toward the van and told someone still inside the van, whom she did not see, that "there`s somebody out here with them," and that he then began to "argue and started cussing at the person who was still in the van." The suspect then got back into the van, which drove off heading westbound on M-36.
She told deputies that the van was a full-size white cargo van, with black wheels with chrome rims. The male suspect who got out was described as a white male in his mid-to-late 30`s, standing about 5`8" and weighing approximately 180 pounds. He was wearing a white bandanna on his head, a white T-shirt and blue jeans. Anyone with information is asked to call the Livingston County Sheriff's Office at 517-546-2440. (JK)
