Howell High School will celebrate the Class of 2023 and their post-secondary education choices during its annual Decision Day this Friday.

One of those being celebrated will be Cadet Jaidah Davis. Cadet Davis, the Group Commander for Howell High School's Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) unit, has received an appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAF) in Colorado. Rated as a top college by U.S. News and World Report, USAF Academy has high admission standards - with only 11% of applications receiving an appointment.

In addition to earning an appointment to USAF Academy, Cadet Davis also received the J-100 AFJROTC Character-in-Leadership Scholarship, a full-ride scholarship to the academy. Cadet Davis is one of only 100 AFJROTC cadets nationwide to receive the scholarship. She’ll report to the academy in June.

Decision Day will take place Friday at 9:30am in the school's field house. The event will include a guest speaker and a parade of graduates holding banners and signs honoring their post-secondary education choices.
