Upcoming Luncheon To Focus On Common Health Issues Affecting Women
February 11, 2019
The 6th Annual Livingston County Women's Health Goes Red event will be held Wednesday, February 27th, at Crystal Gardens Banquet Center in Genoa Township. The luncheon will be hosted by St. Joseph Mercy Livingston and the Greater Brighton Area Chamber of Commerce/Women's Business Network of Michigan.
St. Joe's Health Reporter Lila Lazurus will discuss the event’s topic, "Connecting the Dots: From Heart to Heel", while St. Joseph Mercy Livingston breast surgeon Tara Breslin, MD and Michigan Heart cardiologist Shilpa Reddy, MD will speak about the link between heart and breast health. In addition, Dr. Alex Argyelan, MD, IHA gynecologist will be present to talk about some of the most common health issues facing women today and registered dietician Lisa McDowell, MS, RD, CSSD, will provide information about maintaining bone health and proper nutrition.
The educational event was initially developed in 2013 in order to raise community awareness about women and heart disease. This year’s program has been expanded to focus on the total woman. Event organizers are anticipating a large number of guests and encourage those interested in attending to register as soon as possible. The event includes a healthy lunch and sponsored tables with giveaways.
