Thousands Without Power Due To High Winds
February 25, 2019
The high winds that swept across Michigan have left several thousand homes and businesses without power this morning in the Livingston County area.
According to the DTE Energy Outage Map, the bulk of their outages are in the Brighton area, with about 1,100 outages reported. The Howell area has approximately 400 scattered outages, including Northwest Elementary School, which is closed for the day. All of them are being attributed to wind damage and at this point the utility is not offering an estimate on when power will be restored.
As for Consumers Energy, about 2,500 of their customers are also without power in the Argentine Township area, including Linden Community Schools, which closed for the day. Consumers says they expect to have everyone reconnected by 11:30 tonight. (JK)
