Court dates have been set for a Stockbridge man charged with assaulting two acquaintances in Putnam Township.

41-year old Wayne Phil Seely was charged Tuesday with one count of Assault with Intent to Murder, one count of Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm Less than Murder, and two counts of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon. The charges stem from an August 21st incident in the 5000 block of Patterson Lake Road in Putnam Township, where Livingston County Sheriff’s deputies were called on an assault complaint. An investigation indicated that Seely attacked two 40-year old Putnam Township residents with a baseball bat. Seely knew the victims, who were transported to the University of Michigan Medical Center with serious injuries, but have since been released.

Seely had fled the scene prior to deputies arriving, but was later located at his residence in Stockbridge and taken into custody by the Livingston County Regional SWAT Team after several hours of negotiations. Court records show that a probable cause conference for Seely is set for September 1st, with a follow-up exam on September 8th.

He remains jailed on a million dollar cash surety bond. If convicted, he could life behind bars.
