Multiple municipalities in Livingston County have declared a snow emergency ahead of a storm that forecasters are saying could be one of the biggest snowfalls on record.
The following have issued snow emergencies:
- City of Brighton from 12am Wednesday to 5pm Friday
- City of Howell from 4am Wednesday through 4pm Friday
- Village of Fowlerville from 12am Wednesday to 5pm Friday
- Village of Pinckney from 4pm Wednesday to noon Friday
A snow emergency is called when a weather event results in rapid or extreme accumulation of ice and/or snow, which is predicted.
When a snow emergency is in effect, there is no on‐street parking allowed along all streets. Officials say all vehicles parked on any street will be towed at the owner’s expense.
A winter storm warning is in effect for the local listening area and the region through 7am Thursday. The National Weather Service says heavy snow is possible with total accumulations of 8 to 12 inches in the Livingston County area.
