A man accused of sexually assaulting a child when he resided in Livingston County has turned himself in after a year on the run.

54-year-old Scott Richard Holloway is charged with four counts of 1st degree criminal sexual conduct involving a person under 13. The offenses are alleged to have occurred from September of 1993 through 2005, when Holloway resided in Putnam Township. Michigan State Police conducted the investigation. Prosecutors previously indicated that Holloway was a flight risk.

A warrant for his arrest was issued in late January of 2022. Court records show it was canceled in early January of this year and his case was bound over to Livingston County Circuit Court.

Holloway is free on a $100,000 cash/surety bond and is due back in court for a pre-trial in June.

Holloway’s Attorney Michael Komorn disputes the allegations and asserts his client will prevail at trial. He provided the following statement to WHMI:

“The article suggests that Mr. Holloway was on the run from the allegations of a sexual assault. This is not true, and in fact Mr. Holloway was not aware, nor would he have any reason to be aware, that the charges had been issued in Michigan, as he was residing out of the state of Michigan at the time.

In addition to the fact that Mr. Holloway adamantly denies that he committed the crimes alleged and that they are untrue, Mr. Holloway would not be aware, nor have any reason to be aware, of the allegations. The crimes charged against Mr. Holloway allegedly occurred over 30 years ago and were not reported to the police until 2021.

Additionally, there are several witnesses that were contacted and interviewed during the investigation that contradict the allegations made by the complainant. We believe that after hearing all the facts, a jury will acquit Mr. Holloway and substantiate that the allegations are false. Mr. Holloway looks forward to the opportunity at trial to exercise his rights and directly confront the allegation in a court of law, bringing an end to the tomfoolery, skullduggery and prove the falsity of the allegations.”
