UPDATE: Glider Crashes In Unadilla Township

Police have released photos and information regarding the aircraft that crashed into a field in Unadilla Township Wednesday afternoon.
Below is a copy of the official press release from Unadilla Township Police:
Just before 3 p.m. on 6-21-2023 first responders were dispatched to a field on Unadilla Rd north of Doyle Rd where a glider had crash landed. A witness reported that the glider was flying low over the trees and then saw a puff of dust and knew it had crashed in the field, and called 911.
The pilot and passenger sustained serious injuries, not believed to be life-threatening, and were transported by ambulance to U of M Hospital. Survival Flight was placed on standby but was not needed.
It appears the pilot was attempting to make an emergency landing but the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Emergency personnel responded from the Unadilla Township Police Department, Unadilla Township Fire Department, Putnam Township Fire Department, Livingston County Sheriff’s Department, Livingston County Ambulance, Stockbridge Ambulance, and the Federal Aviation Administration.
