Authorities are conducting a homicide investigation in White Oak Township, located about 7 miles south of downtown Webberville, after a woman's body was found in a wooded area Monday morning.

On Wednesday, it was determined by the Ingham County Sheriff's Department the victim has been identified as 29-year-old Alicia Gallegos of Lansing.

On Monday, October 16, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. Ingham County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Iosco Rd. west of Brogan Rd. after a motorist noticed a deceased female in the wooded area along the roadway.

Detectives requested the Michigan State Police Crime Lab to assist with processing the scene. Authorities have not yet determined a suspect and the investigation is ongoing.
