Crews with DTE Energy and Consumers Energy are working to restore power throughout the WHMI listening area, mainly due to strong wind gusts and fallen tree limbs.

As of 5:30pm, there were more than 9,400 outages across DTE’s service territory. 400 were scattered throughout Livingston County and around 600 in Washtenaw. Nearly 4,000 outages remain in Oakland County.

Consumers Energy has more than 15,000 customers affected - notably in the Chelsea, Stockbridge, Mason, and Waterloo Recreation Areas.

Updated outage numbers can be accessed on the utility’s outage maps. Links are provided.

Meanwhile, a flood watch remains in effect until 8:00 tonight for Livingston and surrounding counties. The National Weather Service says widespread rainfall will continue as Hurricane Beryl tracks across western Lake Erie into Ontario. Rainfall totals in the 1-to-3-inch range have already fallen across the Southeast Michigan region, with locally higher amounts reported.
