AAA: Gas Prices Down In Michigan

AAA says gas prices in Michigan are down 12 cents from a week ago.
The Auto Club says Michigan drivers are now paying an average of $2.96 per gallon for regular unleaded, which is a new 2025-low. The price is 7 cents less than this time last month and 49 cents less than this time last year. Motorists in Livingston and Oakland counties are among those that typically pay more than the average per gallon.
According to new data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), gasoline demand increased. Total domestic gasoline supply increased from 247.9 million barrels to 248.3, while gasoline production decreased, averaging 9.2 million barrels per day.
At the close of Wednesday’s formal trading session, WTI dropped $0.31 to settle at $68.62 a barrel.
The EIA reports that crude oil inventories decreased by 2.3 million barrels from the previous week. At 430.2 million barrels, U.S. crude oil inventories are about 4% below the five-year average for this time of year.
AAA Spokesperson Adrienne Woodland said "Motorists across Michigan are seeing some of the lowest pump prices so far in 2025".
Compared to last week, Metro Detroit’s average daily gas price decreased. Metro Detroit’s current average is $3.01 per gallon, about 10 cents less than last week’s average and 43 cents less than this same time last year.
