Area high school students are getting ready to shine at prom.

LACASA’s Cinderella's Closet is returning - a pop-up prom boutique offering gently-used formalwear at affordable prices.

It’s open this Thursday through Sunday at Tanger Outlets Center at 1475 N. Burkhart Road in Howell Township, in the storefront next to Hot Topic. Weekday hours are 3 to 7pm, and weekend hours run from 10am to 6pm.

Local high school students are invited to shop for $25 gowns, dresses, and suits, and also save on shoes and accessories.

The shopping experience also offers students empowering messages, advice for making healthy decisions, and supportive adults.

LACASA President and CEO Bobette Schrandt said "In a time of rising costs, Cinderella's Closet provides a budget-friendly opportunity for students to find the perfect prom attire to look and feel their best while supporting a crucial cause. We are grateful to the community for their continued support and for helping provide students with a sustainable, affordable option that does good for the community and reduces textile waste”.

All proceeds from Cinderella's Closet directly benefit LACASA's programs and services for survivors of child abuse, domestic violence and sexual violence.

Those interested in donating formal wear can contact Snedicor’s Green Earth Cleaners. Snedicor’s provides donation pickups and cleaning. Donations can also be dropped off at LACASA Collection charity resale boutique during regular hours.

Cinderella’s Closet is for high school students only, and shoppers will be required to show a student ID. A limited number of formalwear scholarships are available by speaking with the staff or volunteers on site.
