OLHSA’s 35th annual Walk for Warmth event in Livingston County is this weekend and there’s still time for individuals and teams to register or donate to the cause.
The Oakland Livingston Human Service Agency or OLHSA, a Community Action Agency, hosts the event every year. The walk will take place this Saturday, March 15th at a new location – the Oceola Community Center located at 1661 N. Latson Road.
Every dollar raised during Walk for Warmth Livingston helps keep local families safe and warm this winter.
In 2024, OLHSA's Walk for Warmth kept 340 neighbors in Livingston County safe and warm and raised $38,300.
OLHSA CEO Dr. Susan Harding said “We are proud of the continued success of Walk for Warmth and the impact it has on those in need in the communities we serve. The event draws hundreds of participants and is an exemplary model of community service and solidarity.”
This year’s theme is “March of the Penguins” and entertainment will include the Hartland Senior Choir singing the National Anthem, DJ Aaron Aeschliman, glitter tattoos, penguin-themed arts and crafts, a scavenger hunt, games, a cake walk with sweet prizes, a souvenir walk-themed photo, free children's vision screenings provided by Project Kids Sight (Lions of Michigan), a 50/50 raffle, door prizes, and more.
Registration starts at 9am, with the event kicking off at 9:30am. The premier sponsor this year is Genisys Credit Union. Officials say sponsorships start at $500 and offer a valuable way for organizations to achieve brand visibility and awareness while giving back to those in need.
