A man is facing criminal charges after falsely reporting an active shooter situation at Chelsea Hospital.

A 9-1-1 call about an active shooter at the hospital was made last Wednesday shortly before 9pm.

MLive.com reports police “immediately determined the report was unfounded and no shooting had occurred” and it involved an unhappy patient.

The caller was said to be a 74-year-old Tecumseh man, who admitted to making the false report because he was not happy with the service provided.

The man was not arrested, and remained hospitalized. However, police were said to be seeking criminal charges against the man for making a false threat.
