A groundbreaking ceremony is set Friday for a new movie theater in Hartland Township.

Emagine Entertainment is moving forward with the long-planned development of its newest 55,000-square-foot theater and will host a groundbreaking ceremony at 4pm Friday to celebrate the start of construction. The theater will be located in the Hartland Towne Square Plaza at the northeast corner of M-59 and US- 23. The theater will feature 1,140 seats in ten state-of-the-art auditoriums and an EMAX screen. The theater will include various amenities including upscale décor, reclining chairs, special front row seating of cuddle chairs, a full-service bar and expanded concession menu. Township Supervisor Bill Fountain says they’re excited to have Emagine coming to the community and feel it will be the anchor for future opportunities and developments.

The official grand opening of Emagine Hartland is tentatively slated for December of 2018. (JM)
