JACKSON, Mich. (AP) - A prosecutor says five police officers who fatally shot an armed robbery suspect who pointed a gun at them in southern Michigan acted properly and won't be charged. The Jackson Citizen Patriot reports Jackson County Prosecutor Jerry Jarzynka wrote in an opinion released Thursday that the officers "honestly and reasonably believed that Kenneth Townley posed a threat to each of them" March 11 in Blackman Township. State police have said that five officers from Jackson-area departments fired at the 47-year-old. Police say he had robbed an area Dollar General store and was suspected in a purse theft. No one else was injured. The shooting involved two officers from the Blackman-Leoni Township Department of Public Safety, two from the Jackson Police Department and one from the Jackson County sheriff's department. --- Information from: Jackson Citizen Patriot, http://www.mlive.com/jackson
