ST. JOHNS, Mich. (AP) - A former state child abuse and neglect investigator accused of sexually assaulting a teenager faces up to a year in jail after reaching a plea agreement in the case. The Lansing State Journal reports 34-year-old Daniel Hulings of Bath Township recently pleaded no contest to two counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct. He was initially charged with seven counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct. Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 5 in Clinton County Circuit Court. Assistant Clinton County Prosecutor Sarah Huyser says prosecutors made the plea offer after consulting with the victim, who wasn't associated with Hulings' work with Child Protective Services. Court records show the victim said she had sexual contact with Hulings on numerous occasions over a period of more than a year beginning when she was 16. --- Information from: Lansing State Journal, http://www.lansingstatejournal.com
