Eight Brighton High School Players Sign to Play College Football
February 8, 2020
The Brighton High School football program has set a new record as eight Bulldog players have signed letters of intent with colleges and universities to play at the college level. That’s a new record for the number of football players from Brighton High who have signed with various schools — the majority of them in Michigan.
The players include, in alphabetical order: Jack Cataldo, Alma College; Nate Hoffman, Air Force Academy; Nate Kwapisz, Northern Michigan University; Colby Newburg, Saginaw Valley State University; Zach Pardonnet, Hillsdale College; Cole Riddle, Central Michigan University; Ruben Salinas, Grand Valley State University; and Luke Stanton, Grand Valley SU.
The Brighton Bulldogs had their most successful campaign in school history last fall. Although they finished the regular season with 2 losses to go with their 7 wins, the Bulldogs excelled in the playoffs - upsetting #1-ranked Belleville in the state semifinals before succumbing to Davison, 35-25, in the Division I state finals at Ford Field in Detroit.
