Fenton Twp. Man Rejects Plea Offer In Child Sex Assault

55-year-old Michael Sackrider is charged in two separate cases involving minors in Genesee County Circuit Court. On of the alleged victims told investigators Sackrider, who was her mother’s ex-boyfriend, sexually assaulted her several times at his Linden Road home from 2006 through 2015.

Brighton Police: No "Rash" Of Kidnapping Attempts

While Brighton Police continue to investigate an incident Tuesday in the parking lot of the Planet Fitness off of East Grand River, Police Chief Rob Bradford said a characterization on social media that the city has had a “rash” of kidnapping attempts is not true.

Fenton Twp. Murder Trial Again Delayed

19-year old Abdurrahman Ahmed Akl is charged with second degree murder in the 2017 shooting death of 18-year-old Brady Morris. His trial has been adjourned more than half a dozen times, with yet another delay coming last week.

Former Teacher Avoids Jail Time For Drunk Driving Charges

44-year-old Michael Dennis Fletcher was a teacher with Huron Valley Schools when he was taken into custody last September at Lakeland High School after a breathalyzer showed his blood alcohol limit was more than four times the legal limit.

Hartland Schools Placing $45 Million Bond On May 5th Ballot

If approved, the bond will be used to renovate, upgrade and construct school facilities, including safety and security improvements. While it will require a 1.44 mill increase in the current tax rate, Board of Education President Thom Dumond said they believe it is both “necessary and reasonable.”

The 25-year-old Hamburg Township resident was lodged at the Livingston County Jail pending charges from the Livingston County Prosecutor's Office for fleeing and elude, operating with the presence of marijuana and other counts.

Crash Takes LETS Bus Out Of Service

There were no serious injuries from the crash, including both drivers, a passenger in the truck and four passengers who were on the bus at the time. All involved were wearing seatbelts.
