Former Representative Ends Bid For Michigan's Senate Race

Former Rep. Peter Meijer withdrew his name from the U.S. Senate race in Michigan on Friday - ending a longshot bid to become the Republican nominee and return to Congress after being ousted by voters for supporting an effort to impeach then-President Donald Trump.

Closures In Downtown Brighton Monday

North Fourth and Walnut Streets at the railroad will be closed from approximately 7am to 9am. Then at 9am a full closure of Main Street from 2nd Street to Grand River will take place.

Former State House Speaker Facing Felony Corruption Charges

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced 13 felony charges against 35-year-old Lee Chatfield for allegedly orchestrating a scheme of self-enrichment against state, campaign, and non-profit funds. His wife is also charged with two felonies.

Man Charged In Child Pornography Case

The Ingham County Sheriff's Office says 23-year-old Corey Swan was actively seeking additional images and videos of child porn by soliciting underage children using several social media platforms and chat rooms.

Magna International To Expand In New Hudson

The addition will be roughly 120,000-sqaure-feet on the far east side of building at the southeast corner of Grand River and South Hill Road. Office space is being added, along with a detached storage building.

Rare Gray Wolf Killed In Lower Peninsula

A hunter thought he killed a large coyote. The DNR says the species has not been sighted in that part of Michigan since the likely extirpation of wolves from the state in the early part of the 20th century.

Man Charged In Fenton Bank Robbery

38-year-old Brandon Lee Williams of Grand Blanc Township is charged in connection with a March 19th robbery at the Financial Plus Credit Union on Silver Parkway.

Spring Concert Planned For Fenton Orchestras

The Fenton Community Orchestra and Simply Strings are performing their annual Spring Concert April 26th and 27th. The FCO said it’s proud to present free concerts so that those of any background may attend and all are welcome.
